Sanjay Krishnaswamy enjoys finding new, difficult technical problems and discovering novel approaches to solve them. His role at Booz Allen allows him to do just that. Sanjay assists the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command at Fort Detrick, Maryland by applying expertise in enzymology, physical chemistry, and scientific instrumentation to support the Blast Injury Research Program Coordinating Office. He partners with research programs that develop technologies and methods to assist warfighters suffering from injuries caused by explosions.
Sanjay’s career has focused on topics including low-Reynolds number swimming, space-based particle beam experiments, antibiotic resistance mechanisms, LIDAR and optical instrument design, machine learning for security applications, and chemical and biological program intelligence analysis. He established the first functional external Laboratory Response Network reference lab in the U.S. Army, and he has overseen biological defense training in labs throughout the former Soviet republics.
Looking ahead he hopes to continue to build on his technical, personal, and organizational skills to support service members throughout their recovery period.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges.
